Future Maker skill set short courses ensure learner’s get a real start from real industry experts.

Education for real world competencies and entrepreneurship can be particularly effective in initial vocational training, as students are close to entering working life and self-employment may be a valuable option for them.

What is included in a short course program? Our short course programs are designed to make a real difference today while serving as proven models for tomorrow. They focus on independent modules (units of competency) of learning so students can unpack and understand core topics on offer within a full national qualification, combining a number of learning elements that meets the required industry skills and knowledge to create a balanced blend of learning, interactions and application in the learning journey for participants.

What does a typical week in an #LikeaBoss Education TM Future Maker Short Course look like? Learning is oriented so that everyone has the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes that empower them too contribute to sustainable growth and decent employment.

Students learn at their own pace during each week, by attending interactive workshops, viewing content, completing assessments and engaging in discussions. On average, the short course programs take 8-10 hours* per week.

*Working on the Action Learning Project model may require up to two additional hours self study per week.

You may choose to undertake assessment, with the aim of obtaining a Statement of Attainment or Qualification. Assessments have been designed with a focus on workplace outputs.

A variety of assessment methods are used:

  1. Assessing theoretical and applied knowledge
  2. Assessing the application of skills throughout projects, scenarios and demonstrations
  3. Gathering evidence that shows your ability to perform key tasks


Intended as a concrete, tangible contribution to the post COVID-19 pandemic. The successful completion of skill sets provides a pathway to work in organisations across multiple industries.
